What is a SCFE?
SCFE (slipped capital femoral epiphysis) or SUFE (slipped upper femoral epiphysis) is one of the most common hip disorders affecting adolescents. The prevalence of SCFE is 10.8 cases per 100 000 children. It is more common in boys than girls and is more common in obese children.
