In June 2024, Synnovis, a provider of pathology services including blood, urine and specimen testing for a number of NHS organisations, was the victim of a cyberattack. For further background see: NHS England » Synnovis cyber incident
The national helpline is 0345 8778967.
In December 2025 we received confirmation that some of our patient data was affected. Having considered the nature of the data affected by the breach (fragmented data including NHS/hospital numbers, names, dates of birth, partial contact details, age group, test request codes but no test results) and following a review of the impact of the breach (as per Information Commissioner Office guidance) we have concluded that the likelihood of an adverse affect for patients is low.
As a matter of caution we would advise any patient who is concerned to monitor for identity fraud and follow ICO guidance.
