Mr Buckle is an Orthopaedic Consultant specialising in hip and knee surgery. His clinical expertise encompasses the management of degenerative hip and knee conditions and the management of problematic, painful, and failing hip and knee replacements.

Mr Buckle joined the team in East Sussex in 2022. This followed consultant appointments at the renowned Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford, and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, London. He graduated from St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London School of Medicine in 2009, where he was awarded Proximae Accessit to the University of London Gold Medal. He went onto complete his orthopaedic higher surgical training in London and the South-East of England, undertaking further specialist fellowship training at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford.

Mr Buckle studied and worked as a physiotherapist before embarking upon a career in medicine. The knowledge and skills he gained during this time continue to benefit his clinical practice and has helped him cultivate a holistic, team-based approach to patient care.

His clinical practice comprises a range of hip and knee surgeries.  This includes total and partial joint replacements, re-do (revision) surgeries for painful, problematic or infected joint replacements and joint preservation surgery. As a member of the orthopaedic trauma service in East Sussex, he provides specialist management for fractures around joint replacements and is currently involved in the development of regional networks for revision hip and knee replacement surgery.

Mr Buckle was awarded a master’s degree from the University of Oxford in the field of musculoskeletal science and continues to have an active role clinical research. He also mentors and trains registrar level surgeons on the Kent, Surrey and Sussex training programme.
