Mr Henry Willmott

Profile

Mr Willmott is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in problems affecting the foot and ankle. After completing his general orthopaedic training in London and the South East, he was awarded a British Orthopaedic Association travelling fellowship which allowed him to work in Washington DC.

He then undertook a specialist Foot and Ankle Fellowship at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital. He went on to undertake a further period of training at Harborview Medical Centre in Seattle, gaining experience in the latest techniques in foot and ankle surgery. On his return to England, he was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Conquest Hospital in Hastings.

Mr Willmott has published several papers and is the author of ‘Trauma and Orthopaedics At A Glance’, a text book for junior doctors. He has performed research into the use of new devices for fusion of bones in the foot and won a prize for this work in 2014. He also teaches Advanced Trauma Life Support to doctors nationwide.

As part of the Trauma on-call Consultant body, Mr Willmott regularly performs complex trauma surgery and is a proficient primary hip replacement surgeon both for fractures and for arthritis of the hip. His specialist elective surgery interests include bunion correction, tendon disorders, flat feet, ankle instability, sporting injuries and arthritic conditions affecting the foot and ankle including ankle replacement.
