Professional profile
Mr Kirkland qualified at St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School, London in 1989 and received his specialist ENT training in London. He was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and is on the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register.
Mr Kirkland undertook further specialist training in head and neck surgery at the Royal Marsden Hospital and thyroid and parathyroid surgery at the Hammersmith and Charing Cross Hospitals. He was also awarded a fellowship by the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and spent time training in two Centres of Excellence in Europe.
Whilst he treats all general ENT disorders, he has developed a particular interest in the management of conditions affecting the thyroid, parathyroid and salivary glands and has gained expertise in both reconstructive and aesthetic facial surgery, including the treatment of benign and malignant skin lesions, rhinoplasty and otoplasty.
