The results of the latest NHS Staff Survey demonstrate a trend of year on year improvements in many important areas at the Trust.
The survey questioned members of staff across eleven themes about their workplace and working life. Over 3,600 (52%) members of staff responded to the survey. In six themes: appraisals, immediate managers, morale, safety culture, staff engagement and team working, there was significant improvement compared to last year’s survey. In five themes the Trust was better than the national average.
Dr Adrian Bull, Chief Executive said: “Our staff survey results demonstrate we continue to make progress in a number of important areas. More members of staff think that care of patients is the organisation’s top priority and would recommend us as a place to work or receive care. This shows the increasing confidence in our organisation. Members of staff also report that they are more enthusiastic about their jobs and 90% tell us that the work they do makes a difference to patients.
“Working together we want to transform the culture and environment at ESHT and the way everyone in the Trust works with each other. The results show where we have made improvements and where we have further work to do to ensure that we provide the best possible working environment for all members of staff. We are developing specific plans to address these areas. We are committed to improving the experience of everyone working at ESHT.”
