Emily Lawrence said: “We weren’t sure if we would be able to have Ottilie at Eastbourne Midwifery Unit as they were closed recently due to the pandemic. Luckily they reopened just in time for her arrival. It was the most wonderful experience and we are so happy about our choice to deliver there. We could not have asked for a more calm and relaxing birth and Amy our midwife was amazing. Everyone was so warm and friendly you didn’t feel like you were in a hospital. We would highly recommend it to anyone debating on where to deliver their baby.”

Acting Matron, Denise Andrade said: “We are thrilled that 2000 babies have been born at the Eastbourne Midwifery Unit, and are happy to celebrate this milestone with Emily, Mathew and their family. We would like to thank all the families that have supported us since we opened in May 2013 and during the temporary suspension of births at the unit.
