The Trust has been awarded a Silver Pennies from Heaven Award, which recognises the great fundraising and contributions made by members of staff at ESHT – raising over £37,000 since the awards began.
Pennies from Heaven is a scheme the Trust takes part in where members of ESHT staff can choose to donate the pennies from their payslip to charity. Over 15% of ESHT staff have signed up to raising funds through the scheme which sees contributes of between 1p to 99p from their monthly pay donated. For example, if their payslip shows take home pay of £879.83p, a donation of 83p will be made to Pennies from Heaven. This money is in turn automatically distributed to nominated charities on ESHT’s behalf by Pennies from Heaven.
Kate Frost, CEO of Pennies from Heaven said: “Winning this Award is a fantastic achievement that is worth shouting about. The real winners from Pennies from Heaven are the charities so I send my appreciation and thanks, on behalf of all of them, for the donations you continue to make month on month. Across the UK NHS staff have contributed over £1m towards the charities we support, including NHS charities”.
Joe Chadwick-Bell, Chief Executive of ESHT said: “Once again this is a great reflection of how generous and giving our staff are. The last year has been a demanding one, but despite this, our marvellous teams have still contributed to this amazing charity, effortless through the ESHT payroll system. I cannot commend Pennies from Heaven enough for their fundraising ethos and I would like to actively encourage even more members of ESHT staff to take part, if they feel able to. It would be quite an achievement to win the Platinum Award next year.”
