The Lord-Lieutenant for East Sussex, Andrew Blackman, together with Sara Stonor, Vice Lord-Lieutenant, visited Conquest Hospital to thank staff for their efforts during the Covid pandemic.
They were escorted on their visit by Dr David Walker, Medical Director at ESHT and were given a tour of the Emergency Department by Dr Shaymau Habeeb – Chief of Emergency Medicine, and Ross Williams – Head of Nursing. After a meeting with our Chief Executive, Joe Chadwick-Bell the Lord-Lieutenant met with members of staff from the Intensive Care Unit and Baird Ward, who recently won the NHS Hero Award in the East Sussex Big Thank You Awards.
Dr David Walker, Medical Director said: “It was a real pleasure to meet the Lord-Lieutenant and Vice Lord-Lieutenant. Throughout their visit they expressed their appreciation to all our staff for their hard work over the past 18 months during the pandemic.”
