Scarlett McNally, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Trust since 2002, has been awarded the title of Honorary Clinical Professor at Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
There are now three Professors at the Trust. Professor Scarlett McNally joins Professor Nik Patel, Consultant Cardiologist, and Professor David Howlett, Consultant Radiologist. All three support research and education, particularly for medical students, doctors in postgraduate training programmes and across healthcare staff.
Professor McNally said: “It is a huge honour to have been recognised by our local medical school. I love my clinical work and now operate part-time, which gives me time to work on my interests of education, improving population health, diversity, exercise and improving perioperative care.”
Joe Chadwick-Bell, Chief Executive said: “I am delighted that Professor McNally’s hard work and dedication has been recognised in this way. It’s a privilege to work alongside Scarlett.”
