Newington ward – Conquest Hospital
I am writing to thank all the staff at the Conquest hospital for the way they looked after my partner, the Doctors, nurses and all the staff on the Newington ward were all outstanding.

The same must be said about the care he received on admission to the Conquest, again outstanding care and treatment, he was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia and was in hospital for eight days. He now on the mend, due to the care he received.

Emergency department – Conquest Hospital
I would like to express my appreciation of the Conquest emergency department. I have twice recently needed the services of the emergency department, yesterday for an eye issue and in July for an infected bite. On both occasions, I was seen very promptly and received excellent treatment, although I know services are under extremely high pressure at the moment.

Emergency department and Sovereign ward – Eastbourne DGH
I just wanted to thank the team in the emergency department at the DGH. I was referred by a GP as I had a cotton bud lodged in my ear. The department was extremely busy and the wait time was seven hours. I made myself comfortable, expecting a long wait and watched members of the team working hard to look after their patients.

My name was called after just 20 minutes and a nurse had the cotton bud removed within five minutes. I did not get her name, but she was warm, friendly, efficient, and very gracious when I apologised for taking her time up with something so trivial. Thank you to all.

Coincidentally, my father-in law is in Sovereign ward at the DGH. He has been a long-term patient after suffering two strokes. The care he has received has been outstanding throughout and many members of the team have taken a very personal interest in his care and wellbeing. Thank you all on Sovereign and East Dean wards.

Dermatology department – Eastbourne DGH
Thanks for your kindness and prompt treatment when I attended the department last Saturday, much appreciated.

Emergency department – Conquest Hospital
My dad was seen by one of your amazing ENPs at the Conquest Hospital today, she was kind, super-efficient and amazing.  Not only did she put up with my dad’s chat she also fixed the problem.

My dad had been given analgesia, had his dislocated finger relocated, had an X-ray and a dressing all within 30 minutes, which meant he did not even have to pay parking. He was home before I had finished cooking dinner. I am still lost for words at how quick this emergency department attendance was and so grateful to the ENP who saw my dad.

Richard Ticehurst unit – Conquest Hospital
I would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff on the SAU unit. Especially Naz who looked after me when I came in to have my appendix removed. He went above and beyond to ensure I was ok and at ease especially as I had to be on my own before surgery and had never had surgery before.

All the staff were incredible and kept me updated all throughout the process and nothing was too much for them. What a brilliant department. Thank you again.

Mammogram – Conquest Hospital
Just like to thank Jane the mammographer at the Conquest, for making my annual mammograms over the last few years as easy and painless as possible. She has a lovely manner, explains everything and just generally makes it a good experience. Thank you.

Emergency department – Conquest Hospital
A very special thanks for the nurse, Shirley and optician’s doctors from the emergency department. During my time spent there, they were very helpful and supportive.

I have felt extremely grateful when the nurse phoned me and asked me about my health. This was the first time when someone was very caring. Thanks for your help.

SAU – Conquest Hospital
I would like to thank the ward clerk on SAU for her kindness this morning. My daughter was very upset that I could not wait with her, as she was very scared. The ward clerk found us somewhere we could wait together and spoke to both of us in such a caring manner. She was wonderful.

I would also like to thank the HCA who chaperoned for my daughter.  Her bedside manner was perfect, and she was very kind. With her people skills, she will go far.  Please can you pass on our thanks.

Emergency department – Conquest Hospital
A big thank you to Christine and all the medical staff who treated my fractured leg on Sunday. Everyone was amazing and I felt so confident with the care I received.

Emergency department – Conquest Hospital
I would like to thank and commend you as a team for taking care of my mother and the way you showed care, understanding, patience and respect in spite of her lack of cooperation, blood curdling screams and the fact that she left a mess in her wake.

It was not any easy experience, but you did everything you could to make it less traumatic for her.  Particularly the young female doctor and Susan the nurse. Thank you.

Endoscopy unit – Eastbourne DGH
Just had an endoscopy and colonoscopy at the Endoscopy unit at Eastbourne DGH. The team from reception through to procedure to after care where just superb, caring, professional, and they made my procedures seem a lot less daunting.  A special thank you to Nicola Townsend and her superb team, could not have been better. Thank you.

Jevington ward – Eastbourne DGH
Our adult daughter, who has severe cerebral palsy, has been admitted to DGH three times since May, each time with a serious illness. We want to thank the staff on Jevington Ward for the excellent care given to our daughter who had aspiration pneumonia and was extremely ill. Dr Pedro Diaz was so compassionate and caring and listened to us, her parents who know her so well, and answered our many questions. He showed such a caring attitude to patients as he spoke to them each morning.

The staff nurses and sisters were so hard working yet found time to support us while giving our daughter such good care. A lovely HCA Danni and Andy kept her comfortable and clean on A Bay too. Spending a lot of time at the hospital, we noticed so many examples of good care, reassuring dementia patients, helping older or disabled people to get their nutrition, good teamwork between doctors, nurses and HCA’s.

The Chest Physio Team deserve recognition for the very important job they do, especially Dom. Each physio that visited our daughter each day was so kind and explained to her and us what they were going to do. The SALT team too, especially Charlotte who helped with her first tasters of food after three weeks without.

Staff on Jevington did an amazing job carrying on with their vital work during the heatwave. Thanks everyone for helping our daughter recover from a horrible illness. She is feeling very much better now.

Diabetic eye screening – Bexhill Hospital
Thank you so much for the way you treated our learning-disabled daughter today. It is always difficult to get the screening done because she does not understand, and it can make her anxious and aggressive. However, you were brilliant with her, so kind and reassuring. It was also great that no one else was booked after us, which made it a lot less stressful. Thank you again.

All Endoscopy Staff – Eastbourne DGH
I want to say a big thank you to you all for making me feel at ease and giving me such amazing care.  Everyone, from receptionists through to all the nurses and recovery crew were amazing and I know I will not be as nervous next time I have to visit again for the same procedure in a few weeks’ time. Thank You.

Lynne Cope – Human Resources
I would like to send a massive thankyou to Lynne. She replied so promptly, and when speaking with her she was very friendly and helpful.  If only, there were more Lynne’s in the world.

Emergency department – Conquest Hospital
Both my wife and I would like to record our appreciation for the outstanding service that was afforded to my wife following her accident yesterday. The diagnosis and treatment of her dislocated shoulder was second to none and the care of the members of staff from the Consultant downwards could not have been bettered. Thank you again for your wonderful service.

Conquest Hospital
I am writing to express my deep gratitude for the excellent care received at the Conquest Hospital.  I was brought in to (the emergency department) via 111, with a collapsed hip, which has already been operated twice. I was admitted to a ward in the early hours and had a five-hour operation; I had a heart attack and woke to find myself in HDU.  During my two-week stay, I also spent time on Benson ward, James and Cookson Attenborough wards.

In spite of staff and resources being stretched to the limit, the care I received was excellent delivered with skill, efficiency, kindness and respect.  I am especially grateful to Mr Keast-Butler and his team for taking on a difficult and complex procedure, and to the cardiac team who stepped in to care for the heart situation.

How everyone is able to remain so caring and positive under pressure is a marvel, and this was at every level, from, surgeon to nurses to porters and the folk who clean and make tea.  Please pass on my heartfelt thanks.

Dr Spiteri – Eastbourne DGH
I attended your hospital for a consultation with Dr Spiteri, I cannot let the moment pass without asking you to compliment him and his wonderful team of nurses who turned a stressful encounter into one that left me feeling relaxed and confident.  He had a manner that I am sure other medical staff would wish to aspire to; his nurses displayed the same care. My experience with the staff carrying out my MRI scan mirrored that of Dr Spiteri.

Pevensey Day Unit – Eastbourne DGH
Please pass on my thanks to the Pevensey day unit for all the care and friendliness they have shown during my cancer treatment. They are an amazing team; nothing is too much trouble. I have set up a monthly donation as a continuing thank you.

Gardener ward – Conquest Hospital
I would like to thank the amazing staff on the Gardener Ward and the surgery team. I was only there for the few hours it took to perform the operation but the care from everyone was amazing. Thank you again.

Emergency department – Eastbourne DGH
Please pass our thanks to the staff at the emergency department especially resus they made a very frightening situation so much better for our son and us. We really are grateful for all their hard work and there very caring personalities. Our son is now on the road to recovery.

Gardner ward – Conquest Hospital
A huge thank you to Mrs Kerry Sargant and Mr Elhami Ebeid, my consultants.  I was admitted to Gardner Ward in August for a total hysterectomy.  On the day of the surgery Mrs Sargant and Mr Ebeid both spent time with me explaining the operation and I had several follow up visits.  I am so very grateful for their calm, courteous and caring consideration.

Many thanks to all the operating theatre staff and all the lovely staff on Gardner Ward for their first class care and kindness.  They were all so attentive and willing to help.  I could see how hard they worked by they always had a smile and kind words.

The lovely people who kept the ward clean and tidy, the friendly people who brought our food.  I am so very thankful for so many things over the last few worrying months. Please pass on my most grateful appreciation to all concerned for taking such good care of me through that was, for me and my family, a most frightening and worrying few months.

Surgical Assessment Unit – Conquest Hospital
I would like to highly comment the staff on the SAU where my husband was treated.  I cannot praise the nursing, surgical and support staff more highly. They were kind, caring efficient and responsive.  The ward was so well run, everyone knowing his or her role and responsibilities. The care my husband received gave us both so much confidence and reassurance making a stressful and worrying event so much easier to manage.  You should be most proud of your surgical team.

Conquest Hospital
On behalf of my dad and my family, I write to thank and congratulate the team at Conquest for the excellent treatment provided to my dad and my family. In August, my dad was rushed to hospital, where he spent over three weeks having tests, every ward he was on we were looked after and given regularly updates on the tests carried out.  My dad was diagnosed and given medical treatment before going home.

The Conquest Hospital is far the best hospital I have ever been onto and has restored my faith in our wonderful NHS.  Your staff are a credit to you.
