We are supporting family and friends to share messages with their loved ones while visiting to our hospitals is restricted.

Patients at Bexhill Irvine Unit, Conquest Hospital, Eastbourne DGH and Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital, are now able to receive messages of support from their loved ones – by virtual post box.

Visits to our hospitals have been restricted and we are encouraging family and friends to contact their loved one’s via phone and video calls.

We have also launched a ‘Send a message to a loved one’ service. Family and friends of inpatients can send messages, letters or photos – please complete the ‘Send a message to a loved one’ form below:


Send a message to a loved one via telephone

People who don’t have access to this website can phone their message through to our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS):

  • For Conquest, Bexhill and Rye Hospitals – Tel: 0300 131 5309
  • For Eastbourne DGH – Tel: 0300 131 4784

Calls will need to be between 9am to 3.30pm – Monday to Friday.

Send a message to a loved one via post

We welcome cards and letters in the post, but please makes sure that they’re properly addressed with the name of the patient, the ward they are staying on and the hospital they are in.

The service is open to family and friends of patients on all wards. All messages will be collated and distributed to patients.

Please note this service is only available for patients to receive messages, and we cannot return messages or respond to specific patient queries at this time.
