Send a message to a loved one

We are supporting family and friends to share messages with their loved ones while visiting our hospitals is restricted.

From Monday 27th April 2020, patients at Bexhill Irvine Unit, Conquest Hospital, Eastbourne DGH and Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital, are now able to receive messages of support from their loved ones in a new way – by virtual post box.

Message a Loved One via Email

As the demands of coronavirus (COVID-19) are managed, visits to our hospitals have been restricted and we are encouraging family and friends to contact their loved one’s via phone and video calls.

To complement this we have also launched a ‘Send a message to a loved one’ service. Family and friends of inpatients can send messages, letters or photos to:

Please provide the following information when contacting the service:

  • Your name
  • Your contact details
  • Patient’s name
  • Ward
  • Bay (if known)
  • Date of birth (if known)

Message a Loved One via telephone

People who don’t have access to email can phone their message through to our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS):

  • For Conquest, Bexhill and Rye Hospitals – Tel: (01424) 758090
  • For Eastbourne DGH – Tel: (01323) 435886

Calls will need to be between 9.00am to 3.30pm – Monday to Friday.

The service is open to family and friends of patients on all wards. All messages will be collated and distributed to patients.

Please note this service is only available for patients to receive messages, and we cannot return messages or respond to specific patient queries at this time.
