Hip conditions

The hip joint is a ball and socket joint, where the head of the thigh bone (femur) meets the pelvis (acetabulum).

It forms a connection from the lower limb to the pelvis (Pelvic girdle), and is designed for stability and weight-bearing and because of this there is a complex arrangement of muscles ligaments and tendons which act on the joint.
