General Surgery

General surgery is focussed mainly on conditions related to the digestive system e.g. stomach, intestines and gallbladder.

All emergency and high risk general surgery takes place at Conquest Hospital. Planned (elective) operations are carried out at both Conquest Hospital and Eastbourne DGH but a small number of these planned operations, which include the more complex procedures, are undertaken at Conquest Hospital.
