Visiting restrictions – essential visitors only

To help us keep our patients, staff and visitors safe, stop the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19) and keep our hospitals running, we are restricting visiting to essential visitors only. We are asking that people don’t visit our hospitals, with the exception of:

  • One visitor to a patient in a critical condition who may be at the end of their life
  • One parent or guardian visiting a child or accompanying them to an appointment
  • One birthing partner in labour wards only
  • One carer for a patient with additional needs that cannot be met by hospital staff (eg. BSL or d/Deaf Blind interpreter, dementia support, carers etc)

We ask for the public’s help in respecting these rules.

We know how important it is for our patients to have visitors and we would encourage visitors to use a phone or video call to keep in touch with loved ones at our hospitals.

Please note

If you are travelling from a long distance away or are making a special journey to visit someone in one of our hospitals which has ward visiting restrictions, please contact the hospital by telephone first, before you set off, to get the latest news about all restricted wards.
