Cookson Attenborough Short Stay Unit is divided into three different areas:
- Pre-admission clinic
- Pre-operative reception area
- Ward area / post procedure area
There are 12 beds plus six trolleys to accommodate the 100 patients that pass through the unit on a weekly basis. These patients receive any procedure that requires a one-night stay or less.
