Richard Ticehurst Surgical Assessment Unit is a 26 bedded unit for male and female patients.
The unit takes all emergency patients for assessment of general surgical patients. Our aim is to provide rapid assessment, stabilisation and diagnosis of patients prior to transfer or discharge.
The Unit also offers an alternative to in-patient stay – for example, gallstone pathway where patients attend for scans, blood tests, review and planning of on-going treatment, this therefore reduces the need for an in-patient admission.
