Kipling Ward is a 21 bedded unit comprised of 2 bays of 6 beds, 7 cubicles, 2 isolation rooms and 1 oncology suite. Kipling Ward is a general medical and surgical ward for all children aged 0 to 16 years of age unless they have complex needs in which case they may be admitted up to their 19th birthday.
Children and young people with mental health issues are also admitted and managed by acute Paediatricians and CAMHS. Consultant paediatricians oversee the care of the children admitted to the ward, SSPAUs and in the community.
