Care in your home

When we visit you in your home to provide nursing care your treatment plan will be discussed with you at your initial assessment visit in your home.

Any further follow up home visits, if needed, will then be booked with you in advance. If a member of our nursing team is unable to visit on the date booked, you will be contacted at the earliest opportunity and an alternative date will be offered. Although it is not possible to give an exact time for each visit, we may be able to specify a morning or afternoon appointment.

When a member of our staff visits you in your home, we would ask you to please follow these requests:

  • If you smoke, please refrain from smoking immediately before and during the visit by our member of staff
  • If you have any pets in your house, please ensure that they are not in the same room as our member of staff. Staff will not be able to undertake an assessment of your care needs or give treatment where pets are in the same room. The only exceptions to this are guide dogs and hearing dogs.
  • We do not expect, or tolerate, verbal abuse or physical aggression of any kind towards members of our staff. Staff members will leave the premises if they are subjected to such abuse and the incident will be reported as an assault. Our staff are in constant communication with their base and have the means of immediately summoning assistance if in difficulties.
