The trainees benefit from a weekly dedicated CMT teaching programme designed to cover the CMT curriculum. There is additional weekly ward based clinical teaching and prior to PACES specific registrar/consultant led teaching is provided to those that will be sitting the examinations. The trainees also have the opportunity to present and attend weekly Grand Round meetings.
Leadership
There is an excellent regionally recognised Leadership Course provided by the Trust, this covers:
- Defining leadership
- Leadership and Management
- Change Management
- The Medical Leadership Competency Framework
- Identifying opportunities for junior doctors to experience leadership
- How to complete LEAD tool
The course has received excellent feedback.
Simulation
We have excellent up to date simulation facilities on both sites and dedicated simulation training sessions for Core Medical Trainees are held on a regular basis. Our Simulation local faculty provide excellent support and commitment for trainees to cover most of the core curriculum over the two year period.
